There are shows like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead which are immensely enjoyable but it feels like we’ve been watching them forever. Don’t you just love the feeling of losing yourself in a brand new TV series, one you can tell your friends all about and get them involved? Well if that sounds like your kind of thing then check out this list of some of the most hotly anticipated shows that will be hitting our screens this year.

 

1.  The Defenders

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage come together for the first time. The Defenders is a team formed by these four superheroes whose mission is to defend Hell’s Kitchen, not Gordon Ramsay’s but rather one of the most troubled neighbourhoods in New York City.

2. The Keepers

The Keepers is a seven-episode documentary about an unsolved murder that took place almost 50 years ago. Sister Cathy was a compassionate nun who was murdered in Baltimore, however all is not as it seems. Through numerous interviews with friends, relatives, journalists, government officials and citizens of Baltimore, the director crafts a story that goes beyond death. Not so much a whodunnit but a search for the motives behind the murder.

3. Midnight, Texas

Starring François Arnaud, this series is set in Midnight, Texas, a remote city where nobody is who they seem to be. Your neighbour in Midnight could be a vampire, witch, werewolf or even an angel. Mystery, terror and love combine to captivate and frighten any stranger who decides to venture into this unusual place.

4. The Mist

The Mist is a miniseries big on terror and tension, based on the 1983 novel of the same name written by acclaimed horror author Stephen King. The series has 10 episodes that detail the strange events that occur in a small town as a result of a seemingly harmless fog. This thriller is written and produced by Christian Torpe, creator of the hit Danish drama, Rita.

5. Inhumans

This series is based on characters from the comic book Inhumans, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Inhumans are a new species which have been artificially made by an alien race. Marvel fans can’t miss out on this one.
