Every year movies are getting bigger with more incredible effects and experiences for us to enjoy, and whether you enjoy traditional cinema experiences, 3D or even IMAX, there are some films that seem to be universally popular whatever your age. Hollywood is of course the leader when it comes to creating and producing multi-million pound mega blockbusters that feature some of the biggest names in acting.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then chances are that you haven’t failed to see at least one of this year’s huge blockbusters, or at the very least are planning on seeing one this summer. These days, the great thing is that you don’t always have to spend a small fortune to visit the cinema since many of us have huge flat screen TVs and great packages like Virgin Media. Incidentally if you are looking to invest in a new media package, then check out a Virgin Media voucher code to see if you can’t get a great deal. Anyway, back to the films, read to find out about 3 of the hugest hits of this year.

Beauty and the Beast (Disney)

This spring the film to see for kids and adults alike was of course Disney’s real-life version of their classic hit Beauty and the Beast. Featuring the absolutely lovely natural beauty Emma Watson who is also one smart cookie in the lead role of Belle along with other such huge name as Emma Thomson, Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellan, this film has been undoubtedly a hot. Featuring songs from the original score that we all know and love, it was filmed at Shepperton studios in Surrey with the principal actors, before months of hard CGI work produced the magic to bring the castle and its objects to life. Set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray at the beginning of June, if you haven’t already seen it, then get it watched!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Marvel)

Continuing on from the success of the first instalment of this franchise in 2014 which was likewise a huge success, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was of course always going to be a mega hit. And impressively for a sequel, it has received overwhelming positive reviews and has already been a huge box office success. Aside from the character development, the exciting plot lines and the stunning visuals, this film, like the first one, also features an incredible soundtrack which really adds to the whole experience.

Wonder Woman (DC)

The beginning of June will see the cinematic release of one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year, Wonder Woman which features the stunning and strong Gal Gadot as the heroine. Having briefly made an appearance in last year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, she left her mark and many of us have been waiting to see her in her own film. A refreshing change from the usual masculine-heavy super-hero flicks, this film has a lot to live up for and will hopefully be a great watch this summer.
