Have you ever felt that you wanted to help or give back but just didn’t know where to start? A desire to help can quickly be diffused by the challenge of finding a social or community project that you connect with and getting started with them somehow,

The amazing folks at Oxfam Australia recognised that this was a challenge for many people in Australia, particularly young Australians and decided to bridge the gap between the desire to help and getting started.

Reading over their website Oxfam has spent the past few years asking the question:  “What are 3things you can do to help change the world?” and listening to what Australians have to say back. The results are incredibly surprising and inspiring. The have found “that it’s not just the big things like donating your life savings or studying development or building an orphanage. It’s also the common stuff – our routines, the decisions we make everyday – that has far-reaching capacity to change our world for the better.”

Go and check out their website to see what 3things you might have in you…. http://3things.org.au/

Be Awesome is based on the belief that in every situation and moment we have the power to choose to Be Awesome and the synergies with the concepts at the foundation of 3things give us goosebumps, we just love it! So a big shout out and huzzah to 3things and their work promoting powerful change. Perhaps our forces will combine one day?

I’ll leave you with a quote from Margaret Meade that seems so incredibly relevant to both Be Awesome and 3things today:

“Never underestimate the power of a few committed people to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
